On this episode, we dive into how Kalilah Wright - Founder and CEO of Mess In A Bottle embraced the power of  innovation and the pivot in her career and business.

An early lover of the arts and all things creative, Kalilah received her Bachelors of Arts from Penn State University and Masters degree from Morgan State University. She was an accomplished designer and trained architect working for Under Armor when she realized that this "idea" she had for a business could be something more than just a "dream" but a reality.

Did it make sense for someone who was working at an applauded company to quit and pursue entrepreneurship full-time?

Better yet - did it make sense to quit a job as an architect to sell t-shirts?

For, Kalilah it made a whole lot of sense.

In January 2016, Mess in a Bottle launched. The company sells creative messages written t-shirts and packaged in reusable bottles.  The brand was established to evoke change, question Kalilah’s audience and allow individuals wearing their messages to be vocal without saying anything at all. Each item is designed and printed at her Baltimore in-house studio space.

Kalilah shares her #dreamdriving journey - bringing us along for the challenges, successes, and learning moments along the way.

Some of the topics we also discuss include:
- What inspired Kalilah as a child
- How Mess In A Bottle started
- 3 Ways To Build A Great Team
- The importance of the pivot
- Tips for succeeding in eCommerce and building a team
- The importance of being innovative... and more!

Back in episode 172, I told you all about how I quit my job. Two months have passed - what's happened? In this episode, I sit down with one of my college besties and we talk about life after quitting. I answer three questions about how my life has changed since August 2018.

1. Am I scared?
2. What's been the best thing about quitting?
3. What is one short-term goal I hope to achieve?

If there's one thing that I've learned since quitting my job in August 2018 - it's this: there's going to be a lot of ups and down.

This episode is for anyone who feels like they aren't doing "enough", for those thinking about quitting - who don't know what they should expect, for those who have left their full-time and are regretting the decision. I've been there.

You'll also learn more about why you need to get out of your head, embrace passive productivity, stop over analyzing, and rethink your approach and executing of goal setting.

It's okay to take it slow. Slow progress is still progress.

When you're pouring out so much, who is pouring into you? We chat with Tierra Burrell, the founder of Tierra Goes Green, a lifestyle consulting and product line business. Tierra talks her entrepreneurial evolution and why we as dream drivers need to pay attention to what we're feeding ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The biggest takeaway? "Nothing happens until you decide." So, what are you going to choose?

Tierra's story spans from starting her career as a paralegal then moving to Atlanta to chase her dream of being a makeup artist - working at MAC Cosmetics. She then turned her side-hustle as a freelance make-up artist at a local strip club into her first business, Make-Up by Tierra. It was during this time that she decided to be the change she wanted to see and founded Tierra Goes Green. Tierra has dedicated her life’s work to teaching what she has learned to help others unlock the magical unearthing of life powered by the consistent pursuit of total body wellness.
